If you found this page in your server logs, a visitor called Tiresias read one of your pages. Here is what it is and how it behaves.
What it is
Tiresias is the software an AI agent uses to read the web. It has no screen. It fetches a page, pulls out the text, and hands it to the agent along with the exact quotes it used, so the agent can show where every fact came from. Raibit builds it, and it is free and open source.
Get the code
Read the code on GitHub: github.com/Raibit-AI/tiresias. Install it with one line:
npm install -g @raibitsi/tiresias How it behaves on your site
- It says who it is. Every request carries the name Tiresias and a link to this page.
- It follows your robots.txt.
- When you ask it to slow down (a 429 or 503 with Retry-After), it waits before asking again.
- It stops at bot checks, CAPTCHAs and logins. It never tries to solve them or get around them. It hands the page to a person instead.
- It reads price tags (HTTP 402) and reports them. It never pays.
- It never pretends to be a regular browser and never switches identities to dodge a block.
Signed requests
Raibit's own copy of Tiresias signs its HTTPS requests with
Web Bot Auth, a way Cloudflare
and others verify bots. Cloudflare lists Tiresias as a verified bot. Our public key is at
/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory.
Only a request with a valid signature from that key is verified as ours.
Anyone can run their own copy. If they turn on signing, their copies use their own keys and point to their own sites, not this one.
